Since being elected to the Pine Rivers Shire Council in 2000, Bob has played a significant role in helping guide planning for the future of one of the fastest growing regions in Australia and in delivering the services and facilities that make the area one of the most sought after in which people from all corners of the globe have made their home.
Bob has played a key role in delivering on these services and facilities and in continuing to protect both the natural environment and the character of the towns, villages and rural areas that make up this unique part of the world.
The following is a small selection of projects/initiatives with which Bob has been directly involved:

Opening the New Skate Park in Dayboro

Discussing transport with residents
- Succeeded in securing approvals and funding for construction of $1.3mio Community Centre at Samford and negotiating tenancy arrangements that limit Council's ongoing financial commitment .
- Facilitated purchase of the Shire's first parcel of environmentally sensitive land at Cedar Creek.
- Assisted in establishment of first public transport service for Samford.
- Over $1.2m spent in the last three years on redeveloping community parks in Samford, Cedar Creek and Dayboro.
- Redevelopment of existing sporting fields
- Facilitated , at no capital cost to ratepayers, the acquisition of 140 ha of former CSIRO property for community sports fields and passive recreation.
- Purchase of 78ha hilltop development site for inclusion in environmental reserve.
- Facilitated the sealing of more than 50 kilometres of unsealed roads in the west of the Shire.
- Supported dozens of sports clubs, service clubs, community groups, P & C's with donations.
- Development of new soccer pitch in Dayboro.
- Facilitated, at no cost to ratepayers, the acquisition of a parcel of land for new Samford Ambulance Station and subsequent sale to State Government to bring about early establishment of the facility.
- Facilitated establishment of a number of community bushcare groups.
